I was born in Cardiff, Wales, and lived there until the end of 2004 when I relocated to Tenerife in the Canary Islands. My real name is Steve Andrews but I am also known as the Bard of Ely, a title given to me by Big Issue magazine in which I once had a column. I am a singer-songwriter, poet, author, freelance writer and naturalist but have also worked as a TV presenter and a compère at Glastonbury Festival.
